Notes:
The game is best run at 640x480 resolution with 256 colors. Some levels and animations may be a little dark if run at 800x600.
Consult someone who knows about computers on how to change your resolution.
Slower systems may encounter slowdown problems when playing
the game. It is recommended that you reset the computer and not
run other programs in the background to solve this. Not all computers
may react the same.
STORY:
Your world, planet HappyVille :) is being attacked by the evil Lord
Xoldar and the GIANT SPACE FISH OF DOOM!!!!!! Every defence system
has failed. You, (Ed) are the last hope for the planet (I mean if
it were someone else, it wouldn't be much of a game). You were
chosen because:
A) You are the fourth best explosives expert on the planet (by the
official count)
B) You have a special suit that allows you to come back from the
dead
C) You work dirt cheap
Your mission is to board the alien mothership and replace every
target (represented by flags) with explosive charges. When every
charge is place, then and only then can they be set off, blowing up
the enemy ship in a violent, and yet beautiful exothermic reaction
(explosion).
Each room of the ship can have strange, unpredictable physics, from
seeming to be on the surface of a distant moon, to having fish flying
all over the place. The mission is dangerous, and means almost
certain death. Actually, we'd go as far as to say certain death,
but if you defeat the aliens, your planet will be saved, and you
might live long enough to get paid.
Instructions
The controls are as follows:
Movement arrow keys
Climbing up arrow/down arrow
Jumping Spacebar
Pause Ctrl-P
Restart F2
All player controls are possible to modify by pressing Ctrl-Y
Goal
In case you didn't get it from the storyline [or didn't bother to
read it :( ], the point of each level is to collect all of the flags,
while avoiding all the hazards.
Normal White "E" flags add 100 points and are the primary flag to get
Purple "C" flags create things and are also necessary to get (may create
white flags)
Green "A" flags fire weapons.
Green "R" flags re-load the fired weapons
White "T" flags open trap doors. This is not always a bad thing.
Black or White "D" flags are instant death
Some flags are able to move
Along the way, you will find mini "Ed" dolls, which will give you an
extra life.
Hazards
There are far too many ways to die in this game. Here are some
FALLING TOO FAR: Having to carry high explosives everywhere is extremely
hazardous. Extreme changes in altitude is able to set
them off in mid-air.
BLACK PELLETS: These objects are part of the alien's internal defences,
and are in nearly every room. While moving slowly above
or below you, they will shoot towards you if you cross
their path above or below them. They will continue to
fire at you everytime you pass through their sights until
they're out of range (off the screen).
EATING CEMENT: Well, this one is somewhat self-explanatory. If you get
your face stuck inside a wall, your explosives will
eventually become unstable and KA-BOOM! This may or may
not happen, depending if you're lucky or not.
FIRE PANS: These are flaming objects, which are REALLY hot. If you
aren't burnt to a crisp, your explosives will be set off
by the heat.
BEING HIT BY Almost every room has its defence force, which may vary
OTHER STUFF: in each room. Some of these are: sharp objects, lasers,
venomous slugs, fish, robots, nuclear weapons, weird green
orbs, lawyers, etc.
Game playing tips
Despite how hard the game is, all the levels are finishable. The key
is to quickly figure out how each level works. You are expected to lose all
your lives every time you come to a new difficult level, but you can always
come back and hopefully the next time you will have mastered it. You can
always use passwords (every 10 levels or so) to return to where you left off,
although you may be rewarded (nudge, nudge) for not using them.
Tips:
Pellets are most dangerous on the edges of the screen. Try, if
possible, to stay near the middle.
Slants can be dangerous. When climbing up or down, do so carefully to avoid
falling too far.
If you grab the last flag in the room while falling, you will not die from
height, as your active explosives are set.
Trust "C" flags to create new platforms. If there's one in the middle of
space, odds are that there will be ground by the time you hit it.
1 up dolls usually are on a more difficult path.
Don't give up. There's always a way to get past each obstacle.
Contact Info
This game is freeware. If you like it a lot, you might want to send us
money anyway, but there's no pressure. If we did have enough money, we'd
make a sequel, but as yet we can't expect to. If you like it, tell us, it's
at least nice to get positive feedback. If you want hints or solves for
levels, you can mail us, though I don't know if we'll be able to help.
Have fun. Oh... one tip. There are 10 ultra secret levels in the game.
Who knows how to unlock them...?

Legal Junk
Ok, we are not responsible for anything that this game does to your
system, or guarantee it's usefulness, ability to work, or responsible for
absolutely anything. This game is FREEWARE, therefore illegal to sell, but
feel free to give as many copies to friends, relatives, enemies (hey, why
should we care), pets, teachers, lawyers, fish, BBSes, companies that make
those shareware CD-ROMS (just tell us first) and/or web sites. The original
copy of this game is to the best of our knowledge VIRUS free, and free of
major bugs (except for that little thing in level thr.. er never mind)
Credits
I think considering that neither of us are artists, special effects
modifiers, or that every thing made in this game is partially in result to
both of our CD-ROMs being busted, we've done a pretty decent job. At this
point, we'd also like to thank the companies that made our crappy CD-ROMs.
And now...
The larch!
No, really...

Bugs?
The most likely bug that you may encounter in this game is a sudden entrance into
random mode. Although we have carefully combed the levels for this error, one
may have slipped our attention. Report it to the e-mail addresses above should
you find one.
