Without Games There is Only Death
FLAGS OF DOOM!
Flags of Doom is an old Windows 3.1 game I and my friend Michael made years ago. Recently I added music and a few extra secret levels, as well as fixed a few bugs.
A REPRINT OF THE MANUAL IS HERE --- RIGHT HERE!!!
Known issues and solutions to these issues include:
- Overly loud sound fx (you can turn down the wave-table in your computer's volume controls if you like).
- Death from falling/hitting walls (NOT A BUG -- You are carrying infinite kilos of explosives. If you fall or hit a wall too hard, you explode)
- Slow loading (The game only needs to load once on multiple plays, unless I update the code, but this can take a little while. There are also FLI animations which can take a long time, don't despair if the game seems to freeze up loading them, it just takes a little time). You do need to download the Vitalize Plugin, HERE.
- Level names (Each level has a name, but this internet version doesn't display them for some reason. Nothing I can do right now).
- Guy doesn't move (make sure you've clicked inside the game's box when the game starts, otherwise you don't have control)
- I keep falling through ladders (grab them. Just as in real life, if you were jumping for a ladder, you'd have to push up on the keyboard as you fall for them, so you do here).
- It's too hard! (I have beaten every level from start to finish, as have others, without cheating)
Control using the Arrow Keys. Space is jump, Ctrl is used in a few levels. F2 resets, as far as I know, otherwise you can refresh. There are 100 normal levels, plus the finale. There are 10 secret levels which are instrumental in reaching the 10 Ultra-secret levels. There are also 8 levels that can only be found by inputting the secret code. These are especially difficult/experimental and may be a bit tempermental.
Again, you can download the Vitalize Plugin HERE.
FLAGS OF DOOM by Blake and Michael -- Like Jumpman only more ridiculous.
